The Botswana National Front (BNF) and Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) leader Duma Boko will steal a leaf from Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) President Ian Khama by staging a 'presidential walk-about' whilst in Ghanzi for his party's elective congress.

The Botswana National Front (BNF)  leader Duma Boko will stage President Ian Khama's 'presidential walk-about' whilst in Ghanzi for his party's elective congress. BNF publicity secretary Moeti Mohwasa has revealed that after a scheduled press briefing, Boko will go from house to house in a bid to canvas support and pay a courtesy call on party members in the township.Asked if Boko would not be copying Khama's popular random walkabouts, Mohwasa said the BNF has long introduced house-to-house campaigns. He accused Khama of copying BNF programmes but failing to implement them correctly.

"From a long time back BNF has been conducting house to house campaigns but the difference is that we have not been using them for media popularity," Mohwasa said. The media briefing was called by the BNF secretary general Tapiso Kgosikgoma to update the media on the BNF's 16th national congress slated for the President's Day holidays.Kgosikgoma said the party office has sent out nominations forms for central committee positions."We expect the final submissions of proposals on the 30th June 2013. From there on, an official list of candidates will be produced and sent back to constituencies," Kgosikoma said.
