MAHALAPYE: It was fireworks at a Botswana National Front (BNF) political rally as well-known lawyer and party president, Duma Boko criticised President Ian Khama and his government for using an iron fist on its citizens hence overriding their human rights.

Boko cited as an example the case of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR) where the government tried to oppress the Basarwa by forcing them out of the game reserve to pave way for upcoming mineral expeditions.

Boko indicated that the CKGR case resolved in the court recently has brought shame on the ruling party. He said residents of Kuke in the Ghanzi District recently approached him for help after the government again threatened to take their lands and farms. "If there is a need to go to the High Courts, I will do so just as I did with the CKGR issue," he vowed.
