Boko blasts judges

Judges of the High Court came under the spotlight at a debate at GICC last Friday where they were almost characterised as dumb creatures who are a burden to Batswana and a serious threat to democracy.

Making a presentation at the Constitutional Reform Conference, the president of the Botswana National Front (BNF), Duma Boko, said while the Constitution of Botswana is an outdated document that needs to be reviewed, some conservative judges compounded the situation with their sympathy for a corrupt system created by the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP).

These judges are so conservative that they seem to switch off their consciences whenever they execute the duty of dispensing justice without fear or favour. "These judges have killed the constitution of this country," he said.
