The newly elected Botswana Federation of Public, Private, and Parastatal Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU) leadership has made the decision to adopt a silent posture regarding support for political parties in the upcoming general election.

Following their recent elective congress, the federation’s new leadership said it would “not unilaterally pronounce our stance on politics, but rather, we will be guided by the collective voice of the workers we represent”.

The congress elicited interest from political parties as the federation is 'reportedly used and targeted as a vehicle for political advancement by various political organisations' due to its huge membership of over 100,000.
