As the impact of the public services strike seeps to other sectors, Botswana Confederation of Commerce Industry and Manpower (BOCCIM) has met with Botswana Federation of Public Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU) in a closed meeting over the issue.

Prior to the public sector strike, BOCCIM released a statement calling on government and the unions to find a way to resolve the issue. They stated that it was important for government to make sure that the private sector runs smoothly without any disruptions during the strike.

Confirming the meeting president of the Botswana Secondary Teachers Union (BOSETU) and treasurer of BOFEPUSU Shandukani Hlabano, said that BOCCIM called them for a meeting. "We have always indicated that we will want to engage every stakeholder who is willing to intervene to resolve this issue," Hlabano said.
