Bobirwa 'Domkrag' primaries mostly predictable

Mogami loses to greenhorn while 'PHK' seems to get stronger with age, reports Staff Writer ONALENNA MODIKWA

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The ruling Botswana Democratic Party Bulela Di Tswe primary elections last Saturday were not packed with many surprises in the constituencies of Selebi-Phikwe, Mmadinare, Bobirwa and Tswapong in that it had been obvious in most areas which of the candidates would see the light of day.

Even though it saw the downfall of enterprising and sound debaters in the likes of Rosemary Mukwewa and Mayor Amogelang Mojuta, Selebi-Phikwe East constituency had an impressive turn-up of voters. Mukwewa may not have been the people's favourite, but her contribution in council was outstanding and spoke for the capability of women in leadership positions.
