BNYC Denies Firing Suspended Director

"If we have discussed any issue and taken a resolution, a press statement will be issued," said Morima. He stated that the BNYC board met about a week ago but did not take any decision on Jonas who was suspended five months ago after some staff accused her of maladministration, corruption, victimisation and intimidation. Monitor has been reliably informed that the BNYC board members met last weekend in Gaborone and unanimously agreed to fire her though the disciplinary committee that handled the case returned a verdict of not guilty.
BNYC secretary general Chomie Letlole told Monitor that they are still looking at the report and they will call a press conference once they have gone through it.
