BNYC boss faces the axe?

The Botswana National Youth Council (BNYC) has instituted disciplinary hearings against its executive director Pauline Jonas, who was suspended about four months ago.

The move comes after a recommendation by a committee appointed to probe allegations of misconduct against Jonas. The BNYC executive director has been accused of maladministration, corruption, victimisation and intimidation by some employees.

There are reports that the BNYC board of directors has taken a decision to fire Jonas after the damning allegations. BNYC inside sources revealed yesterday that the ongoing disciplinary action is just a smokescreen because a decision has already been made to send her packing.
