BNFYL to petition government over strike

The Botswana National Front Youth League(BNFYL) spokesperson, Maikgantsho Ramontsho has said that the league will petition the government on Wednesday over the strike by the public sector unions, and call for the two parties to go back to the negotiation table.

"Government should give them 16 percent because there is inflation and other commodity increases that have eroded the workers' purchasing power. The poor are suffering just because government leaders, who send their children to English Medium schools, get medical attention from private hospitals and others because of their status and financial standing, are able to access services elsewhere," he said.
