BNF's unhappy lot to form body

Some BNF members who are disgruntled over the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) project and Duma Boko's leadership are expected to form a Temporary Platform soon to air their views on the issue ahead of next year's general elections.

BNF activist Poloko Monang revealed this during a press conference in Gaborone recently stressing that BNF members were denied the right to discuss the UDC project during the party's elective congress in Gantsi last week. The Temporary Platform will be a BNF forum where disgruntled members will discuss their political views on issues affecting the party, an exercise that saw some members being ahead of the 2009 general elections under the leadership of Otsweletse Moupo.

Among those who were expelled by Moupo was Elmon Tafa who lost the BNF vice presidency at the Gantsi congress. Tafa made his feelings known immediately after the congress criticising the BNF leadership and regretting  ever standing for the BNF executive position in the first place. Monang, who wanted to stand for the BNF presidency against Boko, said discussions were still underway on when the platform would become operational. The Temporary Platform first surfaced in the run-up to the 2009 election after the BNF held an elective congress.
