BNF's commitment to unity in doubt

Botswana National Front's (BNF) commitment to opposition unity has been questioned amid fears that the party is not in favour of a merger that is desired by the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) and the Botswana Congress Party (BCP).

Mmegi is informed through a source close to the talks, that the issue is so serious that since it came up for discussion there have been heated debates over the matter resulting in the deferral of the opposition unity talks.

The model of unity to adopt in efforts to gun for the leadership of this country is the crux of the whole opposition unity project. This therefore underlines the importance of the parties agreeing on one model, a more urgent and imperative action for the opposition.
