BNF to take power in 2009 - Mohwasa

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Botswana National Front (BNF) publicity secretary, Moeti Mohwasa is confident that his party will win the 2009 general elections and take power.

Mohwasa told a rally at General Freedom Square in Selebi-Phikwe on Sunday that the litany of problems facing Batswana will bring to an end the reign of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP). He said the BNF is sure of wrestling at least 17 constituencies from the ruling party to add to the 13 that it already has. The combination would give the BNF the numbers to oust the BDP. He predicted that the BNF would win Selebi-Phikwe East and West constituencies.

The BNF spokesperson said a myriad of problems like the introduction of school fees and high unemployment will make the BDP lose power. "In 1966, it was easier for someone who went as far as Standard Six to get employment, but today, it is difficult for even a university graduate to get employment," he said.
