BNF to hold another special congress

The Botswana National Front (BNF) will hold a special congress this year to debate and approve the party's policy documents, BNF president Otsweletse Moupo has announced.

Arriving late for the press conference, Moupo addressed members of the media yesterday at Cresta Lodge in Gaborone in what appeared to be a damage-control exercise by the party's leadership.

Moupo announced that his party would not be holding an elective congress this year but "will instead hold a special congress" to debate and finalise some of the party's new policies that "require congress's approval" before they are made public.
