BNF 'respects' Gaborone's decision to defect to BDP

The Botswana National Front (BNF) has said they respect the decision of the MP for South East North, Olebile Gaborone to defect to the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP).

"We can't question his decision," BNF spokesman, Moeti Mohwasa said yesterday. He stated that the party cannot applaud Gaborone, a former BNF vice-president for joining the BDP.

The defection of Gaborone to the BDP means that BNF will remain with five MPs, the same as the Botswana Congress Party (BCP). Gaborone is the first MP to defect from BNF to the BDP. He quit the BNF on Tuesday, saying it is a party of anarchy.
