BNF reels from leadership Forum blues

LETLHAKANE: Listening to the welcome address by Boteti region chairperson councillor Chilume Balopi, it was clear that the Botswana National Front (BNF) Leadership Forum was going to be on president Otsweletse Moupo's bashing.

The mood was tense and it was clear that comrades had made their minds that it was over for their trouble-prone leader. The stage was set when Balopi was called to welcome the delegates. Balopi outlined some of the challenges they meet on the ground when trying to recruit new members into the BNF fold. This was because at the

"Boteti region is worried about these internal squabbles. We are also concerned about this trend of washing party linen in the media," said Balopi. He also attacked the leadership for exercising selective justice when it comes to the issue of discipline in the party. The Orapa councillor was also worried that his party is on the verge of extinction. "This will be a sad day for Botswana democracy," Balopi lamented. He revealed that the able leadership of the party died when the archrival Botswana Congress Party (BCP) was formed.
