BNF plans Mahalapye East Constituency workshop

MAHALAPYE: Botswana National Front (BNF) Mahalapye East Constituency is to hold an extended leadership workshop that will educate the electorate on political dynamics.

The workshop, to be attended by members of all committees in the constituency, will be held at Makwate on October 29. BNF national chairperson Harry Mothei is expected to open the workshop while BNF president Duma Boko will officially close the event. The workshop will see cell committees, ward committees, constituency committees and youth league and women league committees getting together for a common cause, the officials said.

As part of their political preparation to takeover the constituency from the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) at the next general election in 2014, the party intends to hold a massive rally the following day. In an interview with The Monitor, councillor for Mookane Ward, Timothy Mmopi, said some of the important issues to be discussed include the campaign strategy for the 2014 elections and current problems Mahalapye East constituents is experiencing like poor road networks. Mmopi indicated that residents of the villages of Makwate, Dovedale, Mmaphashalala and Mookane are unhappy about the poor state of disrepair of most of the roads that link their villages which the current BDP Member of Parliament (MP) and Assistant Minister of Local Government, Botlhogile Tshireletso, is failing to address.
