SELEBI-PHIKWE: Botswana National Front (BNF) will on June 13 hold a demonstration in Gaborone to call on government to stop the shootings of people by state security and intelligence agents.

Speaking during the launch of Selebi-Phikwe West parliamentary candidate, Moeti Mohwasa and his councillors, BNF president Otsweletse Moupo said the demonstration is aimed at showing government that "enough is enough about these shootings" and that "we just want peace and tranquility" in the country.

"We will also demand that thorough investigations be conducteds into the recent shooting of (John) Kalafati and the culprits be brought to book. We must remind the ruling party not to kill people like cattle." He added that the peace and tranquility that has been prevailing in the country does not mean that Batswana are so stupid that they do not know their rights, adding that democracy implies that justice must take its course.
