A group of Botswana National Front members have written a letter to the party's secretary general, Mohammed Khan, seeking permission to lobby for the reinstatement of deposed BNF Mosolotshane councillor Mogalakwe Mogalakwe.

Party sources say the group, which consists of a number of BNF members across the country, wants to tour party structures campaigning for Mogalakwe's reinstatement.
An insider says the group hopes to convince the general membership across the country to put pressure on the leadership to reconsider its decision to suspend the councillor following charges of indiscipline.

"The group wants issues surrounding the dismissal of the councillor to be debated around the major issues facing the party," says the insider. "Most people in the group feel that Mogalakwe's issues with the president, Otsweletse Moupo, should have been discussed at the Mahalapye Leadership Forum.
