BNF meets to vet candidates

The Botswana National Front (BNF) central committee meets this weekend to vet politicians who have expressed interest in the party's primary elections billed for 26 October.

BNF spokesperson Moeti Mohwasa said everything is going according to plan and preparations for the primaries have been smooth. "The central committee will be meeting over the weekend to finalise the list of candidates who will be contesting the party primaries," he said.

Of late rumours have been flying thick and fast that BNF is facing financial constraints. It is said the party's office equipment has been confiscated to recover debt. But Mohwasa asserted that preparations for the BNF primaries have proceeded without a hitch.
