Six Botswana National Front (BNF) council hopefuls beat the count of Friday when the High Court reversed their expulsion from the party with two hours to go before the close of nominations.

Justice Gabriel Rwelengera ruled at the Lobatse High Court that the BNF must reinstate Elisa Ntereke, Bobby Raphala, Simon Kgosi, Tiroyaone Khakhunzi, Batsile Dirame and Gofaone Kedise who were expelled on Thursday. Rwelengera said the decision to call a fresh disciplinary hearing against the council candidates is to be left to the party.

He said that the BNF is bound by an earlier order that the six candidates are to represent the party in council elections until proper disciplinary proceedings are instituted.
