The Botswana National Front (BNF) has expelled Mosolotshane councillor Mogalakwe Mogalakwe. The councillor, who has been a critic of the current BNF leadership, was kicked out of the party by the Central Committee over the weekend for indiscipline. The decision was taken after a report from the Disciplinary Committee, which grilled Mogalakwe early this month.

"After receiving the report, the Central Committee took a decision to expel comrade Mogalakwe. It was a difficult decision given that Mogalakwe has been a member of the party for more than two decades," said BNF publicity secretary Moeti Mohwasa. Mohwasa stated that the decision to expel Mogalakwe comes after continuing indiscipline by the veteran politician even after the party president Otsweletse Moupo urged members to desist from publicly criticising the leadership.

"Even after he was suspended, Mogalakwe showed lack of remorse and continued to talk about party matters in public," said Mohwasa. Meanwhile Mogalakwe was unavailable for comment by the time of going to press.
