BNF executive dumps Boko at Umbrella workshop

The tussle between the Botswana National Front (BNF) president, Duma Boko and his party's executive committee over the Umbrella came to a head last weekend when they snubbed an Umbrella team-building workshop.

The workshop, which was organised to reconcile present and erstwhile members of the Umbrella parties, was held in Tlokweng on Saturday and Sunday. Sources close to the BNF leadership say Boko found himself on his own. It is alleged that even the party's deputy secretary general, Nono Kgafela-Mokoka who was charged with coordinating the logistics and attendance of the BNF delegation, did not pitch up.

Kgafela-Mokoka is said to have taken a BNF letterhead from the party office last Friday under the pretext that she was working on the logistics of the workshop only to write to Boko and the conveners telling them that the BNF executive members will not attend the workshop.
