BMWU special council endorses constitutional amendments

PALAPYE: Botswana Mine Workers Union (BMWU) has endorsed the proposed draft constitutional amendments and qualified the controversial draft financial statement at a special congress over the weekend.

The Palapye special council was held to address important issues ahead of the trade union's triennial elective congress billed for Tlokweng on July 28-31. The BMWU had to grapple with the issue of succession only to realise that its constitution was not helpful at all, hence the urgent need to amend it to avert a repeat situation.
