SELEBI PHIKWE: The Botswana Mine Workers Union (BMWU) has reinstated its national executive committee members who were recently put on suspension for challenging the election of Jack Tlhagale to the BMWU presidency at the High Court.

Tlhagale told Mmegi in an interview that general secretary Bob Malele, vice-president Joseph Tsimako and a member of the Orapa branch, Bapamizi Mocheregwa, were reinstated after they reconciled with the union at a general council meeting held in Palapye recently. The trio fell out with the union after they sought the High Court to remove Tlhagale from office and suspend his membership along with Happy Bashe's.

The three unionists' argued in their court papers that the monthly membership subscriptions of both Tlhagale and Bashe are undermined, as they do not have basic salaries, which are used as a reference point to calculate membership subscriptions.
