BMWU congress slated for July

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Botswana Mine Workers Union (BMWU) elective national congress has been tentatively billed for the Oasis Motel in Tlokweng on July 28-31.

It was envisaged that a special council meeting in Palapye over the weekend would thus set the tone for the make or break congress that is expected to usher in a new BMWU leadership.

BMWU president Rex Tambula told The Monitor that preparations for the July congress were at an advanced stage. He explained that one of the items on the agenda would be the election of a new executive committee, adding that they have not yet received a list of prospective aspirants.
