BMD to hold policy assembly

The Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) will hold a policy assembly at which the party will have an in-depth dialogue on its policy document in the next few months.

BMD policy director, Ndaba Gaolathe, says the assembly is a special forum that deals with party policy matters.
Policy representatives at constituency level, regional office bearers and the BMD general leadership constitute the assembly, Gaolathe explained in an interview in Gaborone yesterday.

"It is the instrument of our national hunger for change," he said. "People will participate in this process (of policy making). We don't want a situation where an elite group cobbles an idea and present it as the policy of the party."
