BMD team gets broad mandate in opposition talks

At its inaugural congress last weekend, the members resolved that: "The National Executive Committee (NEC) oversees the negotiations on behalf of the party.

Where NEC needs the general body to decide on a matter, it should refer such a matter to the National Policy Assembly for determination". At the congress, the members were told that the Botswana National Front (BNF) and Botswana Congress Party (BCP) favoured the pact model, while the BMD favours the umbrella model.
