BMD councillor returns to BDP

Councillor for Tsholofelo Ward in Gaborone North, Moagi Taunyane has re-joined the Botswana Democratic Party(BDP), almost 12 months after joining the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD). A statement from the ruling BDP says Taunyane is a member with effect from July 23rd.

"The Central Committee unanimously approved the application and as per article 8.5 of the BDP constitution accepts Taunyane's membership into the party fold. He is now a member of the party in good standing with every right of a member as per prescription of the party's constitution," it says.Recently BMD lost its vice-president as Botsalo Ntuane flip-flopped back to the BDP, further leaving the seat of Leader of Opposition vacant.
