SELEBI-PHIKWE: Botswana Land Boards and Local Government Workers Union (BLLAWU) president, Pelotshweu Baeng has been urged to step down.

Botswana Hotel Travel and Tourism Workers Union (BHTTWU) national executive officer, Nicholas Motiki said last week that Baeng runs the risk of facing the wrath of BLLAWU members if he does not quit. "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

When I look at the (BLLAWU) central committee, I see a vibrant and youthful committee, except maybe the president (Baeng). Comrade Baeng, like other leaders of this union, should relinquish the presidential post," Motiki told the BLLAWU annual conference in Goodhope said.
