Blackbeard�s 14 year London mission ends

Botswana's Ambassador to the United Kingdom Roy Blackbeard is finally being recalled from his mission in London where he has served for 14 years, government sources say.

Blackbeard has held the post for 14 years now, raising questions as to why he has been accorded such special treatment when the norm is to deploy ambassadors to other missions after a period not exceeding five years.

Blackbeard moved to London in 1998 paving way for Ian Khama to take over at Serowe North constituency so that Khama can be elected vice president.
