BIUST to assess Masters' students

Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) Vice Chancellor, Professor Kweku Bentil, says he will travel in two months to Canada and the United States to assess staff members who were sent to study for their master's degree n 2007.

The staff members were offered training to create a pool of qualified people to transform BIUST into a centre of excellence for science and technology education.

The initial concentration is in biology sciences, chemistry, computer sciences, mathematics, physics, engineering and finance.  There were 30 scholarships on offer. The candidates left believing that first intake of graduates would be received this year.  Bentil wants "to see who will progress to PhD level and those who did not perform well".
