Bird conservation tunes echo through Kgatleng

Segale Primary School in Mochudi was last weekend abuzz with the Kgatleng foremost entertainment - Dikhwaere.

But this time around it was Dikhwaere with a difference. For the Kgatleng Performing Arts Commune (KGAPACO) in conjunction with Small Grants Programme/Global Environment Facility (SGP/GEF) and Birdlife Botswana organised a musical and educational event at which the message on the importance of bird conservation could be disseminated to more Batswana across the nation.

"We conducted workshops and it was during those workshops that we came up with the idea of bringing Bakgatla together with entertainment for all so as to educate and advise them on birds' conservation.
