Big cut arrives in schools

The Safe Male Circumcision (SMC) campaign will now target boys attending junior and senior secondary schools in and around Gaborone.

The information was relayed at a Pitso ya Botsogo called by the Gaborone District Health Management Team (DHMT) yesterday.

Health education officer at DHMT, Iko Sebilo said the SMC services would be taken to secondary schools on November 24. He said that they are targeting 23 secondary schools in and around Gaborone. Greater Gaborone includes Tlokweng, Mmopane, Mogoditshane, Gabane and Metsimotlhabe. Sebilo said that they have already consulted with school headmasters who have welcomed the development. Guidance and counselling teachers are expected to help during the campaign.
