Bhagat hits back at judge, demands to practice

Suspended controversial cardiologist Kiran Bhagat has filed an appeal at the Court of Appeal dismissing findings by High Court Justice Michael Leburu that he had no reason to bring an application before his court challenging the decision of Botswana Health Professionals Council (BHPC - 1st Respondent) to bar him from practicing.

In his grounds of Appeal, Bhagat argues that the judge was mistakent in his statement that though he (Bhagat) was registered, such registration was unlawful and invalid and had no legal force and effect.

He also argues that the judge erred in law and in fact in failing to find that BHPC had failed in its obligations in terms of law to ensure that all necessary steps were taken to perfect the registration of the appellant to practice medicine in Botswana.
