BEC and teachers clash over election day invigilation

The Botswana Examinations Council has announced that the Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE) examinations set for election day will proceed as scheduled and instructed schools to make arrangements for invigilation.

But teachers' organisations say their members should not be coerced into invigilating because it is not part of their core duties .

In a press release, BEC public relations officer Spencer Moreri says schools are advised to make the necessary arrangements for invigilation of examinations set for October 16, the election day.
