BDP youth factions to tussle in Sefhare

FRANCISTOWN: There will be no love lost as four ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) youth lobby groups slug it out next week in Sefhare to gain control of the party's kindergarten organ.

The 19th biennial BDP National Youth Executive Committee (NYEC) elective congress slated for the Tswapong village next week Friday promises action, as the youth lobby groups have been engaged in open and gruelling fights.

Although the previous congress elected the NYEC through a compromise list to curb bitter infighting and mudslinging, it's open season this time around in Sefhare. The recent incident in Francistown where four NYEC leaders exchanged political bile in an in-house meeting followed by the BDP central committee sanctioned meeting where the NYEC leadership was paraded before the Council of Elders, aptly symbolises the mood of the BDP youth.
