SELEBI-PHIKWE: The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) disputes in Bobirwa North East and Bobonong East wards have been resolved. It is said the party failed to retain the Bobirwa North East ward in a by-election won by the opposition Botswana Congress Party (BCP) because of the dispute.

The BDP faithful in the ward have been divided because of factionalism in the party at the national level. In Bobonong East, the divisions were caused by feelings that the ward committee was not properly elected.

During a BDP regional congress at the Ikageleng community hall in Selebi-Phikwe last Sunday, party official Oduetse Lejowa said they have disputes in Bobirwa constituency. Lejowa is the regional BDP secretary.
