BDP recruitment fraught with flaws

The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) has once again postponed the appointment of its executive secretary after the interviewing panel flouted recruitment processes.

BDP secretary-general, Mpho Balopi said yesterday that the process was fraught with flaws and omissions, though this does not mean the recruitment panel was incompetent. "Perhaps they were in a hurry to hire an executive secretary and they ended up making some mistakes," he explained.

Balopi said that some applicants were interviewed and short-listed though did not present their resumes. Others were short-listed but not called for further interviews. This is despite the fact that short-listing implies that one has qualified for the next stage of the recruitment process.
