The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) painted Ramotswa red on Saturday during the launch of its parliamentary candidate for South East South, Odirile Motlhale and council contestants. The activities kicked off with a motorcade around the village and culminated in a rally at Magopane Primary School.

The BDP hired a mobile stage for the event. The party roped in music groups like Mapetla and Othusa Tshipa alias Debene Natale, to entertain the masses and dignitaries during the rally.  There were also BDP choirs from Kanye and Kgatleng to spice up the rally.

Motlhale, who is a nominated councillor in Gaborone, was launched by the Vice President, Mompati Merafhe. There was a spirit of unity as Health Minister and MP for the constituency, Lesego Motsumi assured Motlhale of her support. Motlhale defeated Motsumi in the BDP primaries but it seems there have been no hard feelings between them. It was the minister who ushered Motlhale onto the podium to be introduced.
