Rammidi told the ecstatic crowd that the ruling party backbench met on Monday where they discussed ways of solving the strike, adding that he was hopeful that a solution of sorts would be worked out to resolve the standoff between government and the striking employees.

"Yesterday (Monday) we met with other MPs, to find a solution to this issue. Once the matter has been thoroughly discussed and a resolution reached we will come back and brief you. That is my message to you now," he said.
