BDP moves election drive into top gear

With only two months to go, the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) has put its campaign into top gear to realise its dream of winning 70 percent of the vote in the October general elections.

Announcing this at a press briefing in Gaborone yesterday, new party secretary general Gomolemo Motswaledi said that they have even declared a state of emergency in recognition of the significance of a robust election campaign for the next two months.

This campaign, he said, will see the party mobilising all its resources and party members to ensure total victory at the polls. Among other things, the central committee will meet more regularly than the traditional monthly meetings, he said.
