BDP elders to probe FCC cllrs

The ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) will send a committee of elders to investigate the deep-seated differences among its councillors in Francistown.

The rivalry between the councillors boiled over this week when the mayor Billy Buti was threatened with an ouster after he engaged in a heated public confrontation with his predecessor, Ignatius Moswaane.

BDP executive secretary, Dr Batlang Comma Serema, told Mmegi that they are aware of the tension at the Francistown City Council (FCC) and the party central committee has resolved to send a council of elders to investigate the matter.
