SELEBI-PHIKWE: Botswana Congress Party (BDP) 2014 general elections parliamentary candidate for Mmopane-Lentsweletau Phagenyana Phage has blamed the government for the closure of the BCL Mine during the party’s meeting held in Botshabelo over the weekend.

Phage said if the government had no money to sustain the mine, where did they get the billions to buy the Gripen fighter aircraft? “We are in the second generation of human rights, if you deny people to work like what is happening in this town, you will be denying them the right to live,” he said.

He encouraged members to vote for change as the government has failed them. He urged them to lure in new members and create party membership. “There is no life here, prepare yourselves so that by the time elections come, you would have all registered to vote. As residents of Selebi-Phikwe you have a chance to rescue yourselves from this mess, that can only happen by voting in a new government,” he said.
