Molepolole: The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) has accused party member Kabo Sebele of causing instability in the Molepolole North constituency by campaigning silently to oust incumbent MP Gaothaetse Matlhabaphiri.

The constituency's secretary Boitumelo Kgabo has wrote to Sebele, the son of BaKwena Deputy Chief Kgosi Keineetse Sebele, bidding him to explain why he has been campaigning behind closed doors.

"It has become clear to us that you have been busy campaigning in the constituency, before the central committee could permit, contrary to provisions of the primary elections code of conduct and regulations," the letter reads. Sebele is alleged to have been touring the constituency to secretly canvass for support from party members. This has angered the Molepolole North branch committee, which is said to be sympathetic to Matlhabaphiri.
