BDP 2019 campaign divided over Khama, Masisi

The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) central committee is said to disagree on who should be the face of the party in the build up to the 2019 general elections, Mmegi has learnt.

It is alleged that some members of the party central committee endorsed Ian Khama’s name as the face of the party ahead of 2019 general elections while others felt that Mokgweetsi Masisi should be the one selling the party.

However, Mmegi has learnt that there was no consensus on the matter and it was deferred for voting at the BDP national council, which would be held in March.
