BDF guests starved, embarrassed

What started like a colourful day with a courtesy bus ride to the graduation ceremony of 500 army recruits became a spectacle of disaster with many guests left standing and without food.

Bad audio system, confused seating arrangement and general protocol lapse on the part of the organisers spoilt what could have otherwise being a good day for Botswana Defence Force (BDF) graduates and their families at the Sir Seretse Khama barracks in Mogoditshane last Thursday.

While lucky ones found chairs to slot themselves in, others endured standing and at times were left clueless as to the proceedings.  The guests had to strain their ears to capture very little of the presentation for the awards to four of the most talented privates.

BDP primaries leave a lot to be desired

The BDP as a party known to have ample resources has always held its primaries well in time, but this time around that was not the case. The first leg of the primaries was held last weekend, with the final leg being billed for the coming weekend. This time around, the BDP failed to shine in its primary elections.
