BDC top three fired

The axe has finally landed on Botswana Development Corporation (BDC)s top three bosses.

The trio of BDC Managing Director, Maria Nthebolan, her deputy Sametsi Ditshupo (General Manager Business Development) and James Kamyuka (General Manager Management Services), have been dismissed.  They are bidding the staff goodbye this morning and will not be working for the BDC with effect from May. On Wednesday the BDC board led by chairman Blackie Marole decided to fire them after the trio refused to jump ship during a week long leave of absence they were given, which ended last week. The Chief Executive Officer can only be fired if the majority of the board agrees and the new board led by Marole, had decided to appoint a fresh forensic audit to verify the findings of the first one that badly implicated the top five managers at the BDC including the MD.

The Monitor can reveal that the forensic audit appointed by Marole’s board also reached the same conclusion that the BDC rots from the head, paving the way for the board to take the bold action to fire the three managers including MD Nthebolan.
