BCP's murder accused fights for bail

FRANCISTOWN: Botswana Congress Party (BCP) youth league secretary general, who is accused of killing his son, has applied for bail before Justice Zibani Makhwade.

In his bail pending murder trial application, Modise Mokwadi Fly contends that murder is a bailable offence, saying his continued incarceration was detrimental to his family's welfare.

The 30-year-old dread-locked Fly told the court that he was arraigned before the magistrate on November 30, 2006 and has been in custody ever since.
