BCP youth resigns over UDC cooperation

The internal fight in the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) over cooperation with the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) has claimed its first casualty. Vice chairman of University of Botswana Congress for Democracy (UBCD-BCP), Leak Mallet Seboko has quit the party over what he terms its refusal to cooperate with the main opposition party, UDC.

He has joined the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD), a coalition member of UDC. He said 50 other BCP youth resigned from the party this week. “We have left on principle.

This is a principle we believe the UDC holds dearly, too.
