BCP undecided over Serowe West by-election

FRANCISTOWN: The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) says that it yet to decide whether or not to contest the looming Serowe West by-election.

The by-election was occasioned by the disqualification of former Serowe West legislator, Tshekedi Khama, after he missed numerous Parliament sessions following his self imposed exile to South Africa.

Tshekedi and his elder brother, former president Ian Khama, migrated to South Africa claiming that their lives in Botswana were in danger. The older Khama is facing criminal charges, something that he says is politically motivated.

Government’s efforts commendable!

Since the news broke, the government made sure to work hand in hand with the South African government to assist the families of the victims. The two countries came together to help the families identify the bodies of their loved ones through DNA testing.
